Local CCS Drivers make top 25 Inside Tracks Power Rankings

Two of our very own local drivers have made the top 25 for Inside Tracks Power Rankings.  Kevin Foisy and Greg Ogilvie who had dominate season in their respective classes have been ranked 12th and 21st.  Below is the write up on each driver as highlighted on the list.  Check out www.insidetracknews.com for more details.

12) Kevin Foisy (Capital City Speedway Legends)

Ontario's reigning king of scale cars closed out 2009 with a dazzling streak of 4 straight wins to capture his second Capital City championship in a row. Foisy displayed the same focus and determination he's become known for, capping off the season with an incredible 13 wins overall.

21) Gregg Ogilvie (Capital City Speedway Thunder Car)

Capital City favourite Gregg Ogilvie closed out his 2009 season showing the same unbridled dominance that turned the heads of insiders and competitors alike all summer long. The Ottawa, ON driver picked up an astonishing 5 straight wins through the back half of 2009, for a season total of 10 to secure his second straight CCS Thunder Car championship. With figures like those, fans across the province are hoping they won't have to make the trek to Ottawa to catch a glimpse of one of the province's fastest rising stars.

New Management Team

New Management Team Announced for 2010.

The new management team for 2010 was announced at last night's drivers meeting.  The Drummond family will be running the track for the season and have appointed Jeremy Coulter as the Manager.  Jeremy will take over full operations in 2011.

Russell Drummond opened the meeting by thanking the over-120 people for attending and discussed the main vision.  "The focus for 2010 will be to improve local stock car racing as a weekly show on Wednesday nights". This was followed up with an announcement that there will be new asphalt on the track in the spring with some repairs to the walls.  This was well received by those in attendance.

The stage (aka "truck bed") was then turned over to Jeremy to announce the proposed plans and ideas for the 2010 season.  Some of these items included a shortened schedule, increased payouts, and lap sponsorships.  He shared some marketing ideas such as increased exposure for the speedway, drivers, and advertisers.  Inside Track magazine has already committed to coverage of the speedway, showcasing the weekly racing and even some driver profiles.

Schedules for class specific driver meetings will be announced as soon as possible.  The goal is to have these completed no later than February 3, 2010.
